Morning Has Broken

Hope is the thing that perches....(Dickinson)

I had a wonderful email waiting on me this morning.  It was sent from Daily Good which celebrates the good news around the globe.  After the devastation seen in the area,  we can use good news. The email contained quotes of advice from a man who lived to be 114.  His name is Walter Breuning, and he recently passed away, but left lots of great wisdom to be shared.  Here are some tips for living long and well excerpted from my morning email.  (Photo from Flickr)

Embrace change, even when change slaps you in the face.  "Every change is good."

Eat two meals a day.  "That's all you need."

Work as long as you can.  " That money is going to come in handy."

Help others. "The more you do for others, the better shape you're in."

Mr. Breuning died of natural causes in April at 114.  He had practiced what he preached.  He was the manager and secretary for a local chapter of Shriners until retiring at age 99!
