Snowy Friday

Oh, to love what is lovely, and will not last!
(excerpted from "Snow Geese" by Mary Oliver)

The flakes are finally falling! Here is a view of my side yard. As you can see, my fur babies, Toby and Suzy, are checking it out! Snow seldom visits the South. When it does, you'd better not blink your eyes. Its gone within hours. So, is it any wonder that school children are ecstatic today? It's a magical morning that promises to turn into a snowy afternoon, too.

Everyone is smiling as they hurry to the grocery store for milk and bread. That's a Southern tradition. If an inch of snow is predicted, it's a mad dash to pick up a day's supplies! My friends North of the Mason Dixon Line always chuckle over that! Today, we're expecting 3-5 inches...so, just imagine the excitement! I hope that everyone is warm and safe and drinking lots of cocoa!

FUN! People in Colorado raid the stores for milk and bread when snow falls, too!

Isn't it wonderful how our dogs just take things in stride and love every minute of life when us humans look at some things as being irritating?
