Autumn's Color Palette

I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than sit crowded on a velvet cushion. ~~~ Henry David Thoreau

This is the first in the series of color palettes that I'll be sharing over the next few weeks. It is taken from the book The Perfect Palette by Bonnie Rosser Keims. The book was among my finds on Monday's thrift store spree. The author has done such a neat job in the presentation of each palette by adding quotes, art work, and decorating tips on each page. A lovely read. In this selection "Autumn Day," the author suggests the orange, yellow, and green be accented with red and violet. Room trims might include white or light or dark natural woods.

Some seem to have a knack for choosing just the right colors to make the right statement in decorating. More times than not I need help in making the colors "pop!" So, including violet in the Autumn scheme adds that touch of magic!
