Fiddlehead Ferns

I received a slideshow of 65 reasons to be happy for Spring! Well, it's alomost Summer, but I wanted to share this pic from that email of a Fiddlehead Fern. It's very unique looking. I have several ferns, but they are the "old friends" varieties. This picture was taken in Vermont. Wonder if they are native only to that area? We are having sweltering days here in Dixie. Our heat index has been 100+ this past week. I'm ready for a cool change, but with Summer tapping at the door, the cooler weather is far, far away!
