Open panes welcome
Breezes from Autumn's first dawn
Oh, sweet, simple life!
The central air went out yesterday! Oh, how did we ever survive without that modern contraption? Quite well. Where I grew up in the country next to the cotton patch, not one AC unit would have been found. Everyone enjoyed open windows, big round fans, and glasses of iced tea. Last night I had a chance to revisit those days. I turned on the ceiling fans, the attic fan, and opened all the windows. A better night's sleep I have not had since those days of over 40 years ago in my childhood, country home!!! The repair man just left. It's a small fix, but it will be Monday before he can return. That's a good thing. It always helps to revisit one's roots of simplicity! I'm looking forward to the night breezes putting me to sleep! For more Haiku My Heart Friday visits click here! yes....a tribute to simplicity!
all my windows are open....
as is my heart.
thank you for entering in with such delight.
It is beautiful..freshness felt..
There's something about the breeze blowing curtains, ushering change and anticipation!
Thank you.
This connection is one I also felt in the summer months. The cloying evening air took me straight back to evenings spent outside with family and friends, after the sweltering heat of the day and before A/C was ever a reality in these parts. It was a nostalgic, welcome feeling (much to my surprise).
Very nice. Enjoy your evening breezes. :)

Not only is your haiku and musing wonderful, so are the comments!
I love your haiku! It's wonderful to be able to open the windows again. Except now our dogs bark at every sound they hear outside. Oh well.
So very blissful!! and has a soothing effect.
Stumbled onto your blog -- literally. Hit the "Next blog" button by accident... serendipity! Not only did I find a post about sleeping with the windows open (heavenly!) but I see you are also a Pink Saturday blogger! How random and wonderful! Reading on in your lovely blog, but wanted to say hi first!
