Early Morning Owl

Yesterday morning I was greeted in my backyard by a beautiful owl. It was the first hour of daybreak. I was letting my dogs outside. I looked over the side of my deck and saw this large shape perched on my fence post. OH MY!! As he turned his head around, I recognized the kindly soul. Wish that I could have posted a real time photo, but, the remarkable bird was not to be viewed for long. He soon soared away towards the distant hills. I grew up in a small, rural town. In all those years I never saw an owl. So, it was quite amazing to view the stately creature yesterday just a short distance from the beaten track. Hope he visits again!
