Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail!

Meet Peter Rabbit!
"First he ate some lettuces and some French beans; and then he ate some radishes."
Hunca Munca, Jeremy Fisher, Timmy Tiptoes, and the most famous of these and many others, Peter Rabbit himself share their creation from the imagination of Beatrix Potter.   Beatrix began sketching nature at age 5.  Her love of animals never faltered.  It was in 1902 that The Tale of Peter Rabbit was published.  Peter Piper, Beatrix's pet rabbit, was the inspiration.  What joy the story has brought to countless children, including myself and my own!   Amazingly, more than 2 million Beatrix Potter books are still sold every year.  Doing the math--that's 4 every minute!

Little Peter Rabbit was a disobedient bunny who got into a lot of trouble, a cautionary tale for all little ones.  His friends have their own stories to share as well.  Though prominently displayed in book stores during Easter, the tales are "seasonless."

Beatrix passed away in the 1920's, but her legacy continues to touch generations.   Here are a few pics of the lady and her world.
