Santa's Gingerbread

It's a most wonderful time of the year for gingerbread!

    Santa's Gingerbread
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light molasses
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 1 1/2 cups
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 cups self rising flour
  • Whipped cream

1.  Combine egg, sugar, molasses, butter and water; mix well. 

2.  In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour and ginger ; add molasses mixture. 

3.  Blend well. 

4.  Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. 

5.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

6.  Top with whipped cream!  Enjoy!

Happy Holidays, Marilyn. I've missed you at Pink Saturday. Work has had me so busy that I just don't have time to visit often.

I love gingerbread, too. My grandmother used to bake it when I was a child. I can almost smell it now.
