Weeds Are Flowers, TOO!

"Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them."

                                  ~  A. A. Milne

Queen Anne's Lace
In spite of a downpour on Friday, the lawn is parched.  Some plants are thriving though.  THE WEEDS!  I ran across A.A. Milne's quote and thought, "Sure enough!"  I did a bit of research and found that Queen Anne's Lace is considered a weed.  I've always loved its lacy, frilly blooms.  Look at the pretty lavender-blue chicory!  Can we say that's a weed?  Then, the pretty yellow button flowers on the stalk....all weeds!  I call it the "AH-CHOO" Yellow weed.  What a reputation the lowly weed has endured.  The fact that weeds are so easy to grow on their own makes them undesirable. (Insert sneeze)   What pretty weeds are growing in your garden today?  Have a blessed Monday!

One thing I have always wondered: Queen Anne's Lace is also called "Wild Carrot" (because it's in the same family.)

.......Does that mean you can dig it up and eat it?

Just wonderin'.
Aye,
Scratch
