Revisiting Teasdale

Where is the woman who does not have her favorite love poem tucked away in her heart?  Perhaps, the poem speaks of a lost love or a "kept"  love, but etched within her soul one ember never dies. My favorite love poems are by Sara Teasdale.  Like all words put to verse, an entire story is told in a few lines.  I have shared  "The Look"  on every Valentine's Day since the beginning of  Unshelved Words in 2008.  I'm just a bit early this year, but I can't resist! If by chance, as we enter the month of February, the sentiment echoes some of your own thoughts about that person from long ago, ENJOY!  By the way, what is your favorite love poem? Please share the love with a comment!

The Look

Strephon kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all.
Strephon's kiss was lost in jest,
Robin's lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin's eyes
Haunts me night and day.

Oh I love this poem....very telling, isn't it?
I was so happy to find your blog again...I got out of the habit of blogging really, now I want to be active again. I was thrilled to see you once more. I know I love my tin as well, it was much fun!
Thanks for the encouraging words, hugs back to you.
