Haiku My Heart

                                            Benevolent guest
                                     On the garden wall awaits
                                          THE enchanted eve.

This pic of my garden spider is from a previous post of several weeks ago.  Nature's helpful "fellow" still resides on the same wall near the front door entry....far enough away not to scare, yet close enough to keep pesky insects at bay!  Look closely and you might see his "face" which looks startled!   I wonder if he will still be around for Halloween Eve to welcome everyone from afar????  Does he know the fear that he commands from all faint hearts?

It's Haiku My Heart Friday hosted by recuerda mi corazon.  If you enjoy reading haiku or would like to share your own, click here!  Thanks, Rebecca  for hosting this weekly event that has captured my heart.

The spiders are inside these days around here. It's been cold, some frost, in the mornings. Nothing in the insect world is seen until the sun gets up on these beautiful Fall days. This one sure does seem to have been startled and now looks like it is determining a retreat to a place to wait until dark as your haiku suggests. It would scare me for sure!
Good stuff here today

How beautiful that you recognize this spider as a benevolent guest, which is entirely true but missed by most.

Eeeeks!! again, but looks like he is the friendly neighbourhood kind :) Wonder where he is??

I KNOW he's a good spider in my mind, but some part of me still screams, "eeek!" along with Nanka.

And I must confess that he wouldn't live long inside my house...

Love the photo and haiku – and the background info gives this real depth and breadth. Thanks for a fascinating insightful post.

All the best, Boonie

Great haiku. Spiders are benevolent in gardens, even though we don't see them as such. Looks like an innocuous Charlotte. I like your haiku a lot. I am sure that she does as well.

That's so cool how you don't just squash it. Way better than me. I see a spider and evict him, catching it in a jar and putting it out in the garden.

Creepy, as my little grandson would say. I'm not at all fond of spiders, but your is a beauty (as spiders go).

He seems perfectly happy in his garden home. I'm certain he'll be welcoming guests on the enchanted eve. :)

Nicely done!

Spiders definitely are scary, but they weave the most beautiful webs. Nice pic and haiku.
