The Journey of a Monarch

I received a newsletter from Birds and Blooms today.  One of its links led me to the magazine's site where I found an article on the beautiful Monarch butterfly's journey through life.  I have always been amazed by all butterflies.  Their ability to sustain themselves in spite of their fragility gives me reason to once again look toward the creation of nature with awe.  The article tells the story of one Monarch's beginning as a tiny egg attached to a milkweed plant and its journey of almost 3,000 miles during a lifetime of approximately 10 months.  Definitely, an incredible journey and an inspiring read.  Click here if you like butterflies!!!  While you're visiting Birds and Blooms, be sure to click on all of the links for a breathtaking walk through Mother Nature.  So much to see on the site! I so love that magazine ... these delicate creatures are very fascinating. I got a fabulous pics of two flitting thru the air & will put it up next week probably. I was exhausted running after them to try & capture their flitting about.

Have a lovely eve ~

I currently subscribe to Birds and Blooms..... the photos took my breath away. A few mornings ago, when I went to get the mail, I saw part of a wing on the ground, from a Monarch butterfly. I picked it up and saved it.... it made me sad to see it there. So beautiful still even though it was detached from the rest of the butterfly! Love butterflies.... symbol of the soul.
