When bright flowers bloom

The raised vegetable beds were built last weekend. Planting the peppers, squash, and okra has been such wonderful "mood therapy" after staying indoors for one of our coldest winters of late. More on those plants' Spring journey in the weeks to come.
Yesterday I visited the plant sale at the local botanical gardens. Oh, what a sight to see! I bought lavender, mint, and lemon verbena. I bought blue and white phlox, lamb's ear, and "curly" coral bells. All are patiently waiting to take up residence in hanging baskets or in a small piece of earth. There will be pictures later this week when all have been moved into their new spaces.
Today I am back at the botanical gardens taking an herb class. I will share "all the dirt" in posts next week. Just to inspire the gardener in me, as if I needed more inspiration, I visited lots of seed catalog sites in the last few days. Since today is Pink Saturday, I wanted to share some of the prettiest pinks I found. Delphinium and larkspur are some of my favorite "old fashioned" blooms. As I wait for mine to bloom, I hope you enjoy these. The basket gardens are gorgeous arrangements. A few ideas there for the novice floral arranger...that would be "me."
I hope that you are having a beautiful Spring weekend! I so hope that you love these pics. Enjoy!

Hi Summer Gypsy! Your gardening words are inspiring. At school, my class enjoyed reading about Morpheus and the Lotus Eaters! That's what I love so much about blogs. Connecting, always connecting.
Your blog looks beautiful. I love the soft yellow.
It is wonderful that you were featured with the beautiful flowers you post. keep on posting.
Hi Marilyn, Happy Pink Saturday, I spent the morning in a neighbor's green house, where she was having a little plant sale. I got all my herbs and some perennials. Now it's time to plant! :)
Oh, what fun you are having, and what a beautiful Pink Saturday post your flower pictures made!
