A Pet for Christmas!

Many children and big folks, too, will celebrate Christmas with a new pet! May everyone who gives and receives a pet this holiday season remember that these precious lives have needs throughout the year! As an animal lover all of my life, I can well remember times that it wasn't all hugs and kisses from those fur babies. There were accidents to clean up and manners to learn. We have to have patience through those times. It's called unconditional love, but the rewards are so worth it!

I would like to thank Deborah at Paws and Pray for creating such a beautiful blog that honors our animal friends. I visited there this morning, and that visit prompted this post. It is most important that all of God's creatures be treated with respect and dignity all year long!

Here is a little poem to remind us. I found it, of all places, on Craigslist!

Pets Are for Life, Not Just for Christmas

Pets are for life, not just for Christmas.
Each of us waits for the joy of a home.
Take one of us in and you'll never go kissless,
So long as you treat us as one of your own.
