Miss Emily

There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away
Nor any courses like a page of prancing poetry
This traverse may the poorest take without oppress of toil
How frugal is the chariot that bears the human soul! ~~Emily Dickinson

Thoughts on this beautiful Autumn day take me to Emily's poetry! As I gaze at the golden leaves right outside the window with the cool air sweeping them to the ground, images of the long winter ahead remind me to visit a bookstore to stow away even more words for when the fireplace glows. No matter how many books a reader owns, there is always a need for more. One of the great pleasures of being a grandmother is sharing beautiful books with Anna Marie. She so enjoys visiting Barnes and Noble! It's pure joy to see her sitting in the children's section so intent as she turns the pages. She's never ready to leave!

I so agree with you! My house is nearly bursting at the seams with books, and yet I can always squeeze just one more in! Although occasionally I must rid myself of some by giving them to the library book sale! But that just means I now have room for new ones!

It's wonderful to see little ones enjoying books! It's so important!

Have a lovely day!
