The Colors of Walden Pond

This week's color palette is once again taken from Bonnie Rosser Krims' book, The Perfect Palette. The inspiration for the beautiful blue, green, and brown combination is Walden Pond. I have long been a fan of Henry David Thoreau. His simplistic approach to life is calling to many of us now. At Walden Pond, where Thoreau spent two years looking closely at nature, the blue pond still shimmers and the yellow pines still stand in the deep woods. Bringing that blue sky, green grass, and the brown earth together in the main living area of one's home invites nature in as a guest everyday. Accents might include yellow and natural wood tones. This is one of my favorite color palettes. Does it speak to you?

According to Thoreau~~~

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
Henry David Thoreau

Hi, I love that saying, I've always said, my daughter beats to a different drummer! She is a beautiful artist also!
