The World's Longest Yard Sale

It's once again time for the annual yard sale of yard sales!!! The following was printed in this morning's Birmingham News!

"The 127 Corridor Sale, commonly known as the World's Longest Yard Sale, is less than a week away. Hard-core sellers and treasure hunters alike have made their reservations and gotten their wad of dollar bills. But the casual hunter can make big discoveries on the southern end of the sale with minimal preparation.

The sale extends from Gadsden to West Unity, a town on the southern tip of Ohio. It officially runs Thursday through Aug. 9, but lots of folks set up their tents and tables as early as Tuesday; Saturday tends to be the peak day. Last year 4,000 sellers showed their wares along the route. "

Next Saturday will be my first time to visit....I am so excited!!! The article suggests that new shoppers plan on covering about 100 miles each day. Knowing how I like to meet and greet fellow thrifters plus look over every single item, I think we're aiming for maybe 25 miles!!! I can only imagine the wonderful finds that will be there. If you are a "thrifty hound," this would make a great vacation! Click here to go to about.com for more information.

Oh, I am so jealous! I really, really want to get to this, someday. It's my son's first week of school this week, though, and I just can't swing it. Please take lots of photos and tell all!
