Find of the Day

Yesterday was a ME day!!! Since spring break is just around the corner for most of my students, tutoring was minimal. So, I decided to go to the nearby thrift store. I have not been there in almost a year! All of you thrifters can imagine my excitement as I carefully found a parking spot near the entrance...just in case I found the "buy of the day" in the furniture department. Well, no furniture yesterday. I passed a lady exiting with the cutest little corner table that she had purchased. I sighed, but it was not meant to be. Now, when I entered the thrift store after such a long time spent away from my addiction to beautiful castoffs, I got a shopping cart and proceeded to peruse for 4 hours!!! Four glorious hours. I always put things in the cart to "ponder." Then as my stash grows, I start to make a final decision on each item. Books ALWAYS win out during the final "should I" process. You cannot go wrong with a book! I will be posting pics of some special literary jewels I bought yesterday later, but, today I am sharing with you the most INCREDIBLE discovery of the 4 hours. It is a beautiful set of Fitz and Floyd Blackberry Rabbit salt and pepper shakers for $1.49! Yes, you read it right!!! They are in the original box with the foam still taped to protect them!!! I was and still am ecstatic. To think...I had almost left without seeing them. I was on my way to the checkout when I decided to take one more spin by the bundled greeting cards. Someone had placed the shakers on the shelf above the cards. Take a look at my blackberry bunnies!! The total cost of my shopping spree ....$25.01!!! Just wait til you see what else I found!!! I will try to post more items throughout the weekend! We are expecting a very stormy weekend starting today...maybe, severe weather. In the Land of Cotton severe weather is spelled "tornado." I hope that we just get a slow, soaking rain...the kind of rain that makes the day good for reading and napping...Blessings from my little cottage to yours!

GORGEOUS!!! I love a find like this -- placed where it doesn't belong which says to me "Meant to Be Mine", and what a bargain!! Don't you just feel like you could dance & sing to the moon and back when something like this happens?!?

Wow, 4 hours. You and my sister could be twins...I love a good thrift store too, but I go thru rather quickly, she lingers. It is so fun to find something at a good bargin!
